Ten Questions for Contractors
We recommend that all potential clients have answers to the following questions prior to choosing a contractor:
Do you possess a prepaid contractors license?
What work are you licensed to do? ie. electrical, plumbing, etc.?
What kind of work do you specialize in?
Have you done a similar job before and can you provide references?
Will you use your own crew, or subcontract parts of the job?
How and when do you clean up?
What work schedule will you follow?
What kind of warranty do you offer, and what does it cover?
Do you carry WCB and liability insurance?
Will you provide a written contract with lien protection and a payment schedule?
